What started as a vision of a cool, welcoming spot in the heart of Muskoka was then explored, researched and fine-tuned by TOBEN Hospitality Group owners Toben Kochman, Elana Kochman and Ryan Feldman. After putting their heads together and harmonizing their ideas, they arrived at The Pearl. With a variety of ways to enjoy food and great company, The Pearl truly is the true sweet spot where cuisine, culture and community intersect.

With a rotating menu and new items added daily, you’re in for the season’s freshest ingredients and a modern take on typical market fare. Order a dish to stay and catch some rays on our patio while you get to enjoy every delicious bite. Whether it’s an oat milk latte and our signature croissant, or sinking your teeth into a bomb breakfast sandwich, we’ve got bites to satisfy every taste.

With a focus on communal eats and live entertainment, this destination is the perfect atmosphere for guests to disconnect from their day and reconnect with one another. With the option to join us for weekend brunch, there is ample opportunity to taste a variety of dishes from our continuously evolving menu.

If you’re looking to host a group, you can pre-order larger quantities to pick-up and enjoy at your own venue. If you want to step it up a notch, there is the option to have our chefs assist you onsite at a location of your choice.

With a love for entertaining, unique venues, and of course incredible food,
the concept for The Pearl was created by the owners of the TOBEN Hospitality
Group, Toben Kochman, Elana Kochman and Ryan Feldman.

The trio recognized a void in the food industry as you drove north from the city. They saw their clients and friends visiting a variety of local Toronto curated shops to stock up before heading to their cottages for the weekend. Pastries for breakfasts, sandwiches and sides for lunch, tapas for dinner, the list goes on. Trunks were packed full and away they went.

But why wasn’t there a local place that offered quality contemporary cuisine in the country? Why couldn’t you support the community and buy locally? Why couldn’t you grab a killer cocktail while your toddler mowed down on a decadent grilled cheese? In short, because it didn’t exist.

The TOBEN owners fine-tuned their ideas and created The Pearl, the first of its kind. A local Bala hot spot where you can order food for group entertaining, grab a bite on your way up north, or enjoy a night out with family and friends.

Reflective of its physical location, a true crossing of city to country; where modern delicacy and cozy comforts combine.

The Pearl is backed by The TOBEN Hospitality Group, a catering and event service management company in action for nearly 20 years. With an extremely successful presence in the industry, TOBEN knows how to make delicious cuisine, provide top notch service, and throw a stellar party. These key factors came directly into play in the planning and execution of The Pearl and have helped to name it the hot spot it is today.

Toben, Elana and Ryan are humbled and excited to be offering the quality of their business in a new area north of the city. With the goal of providing fresh, accessible cuisine and a great experience, they’re in for the long haul and hope to become a community staple of the Muskoka area for years to come.
